Hofmann and Scholze German made gloss black upright piano
German made Hofmann and Scholze 121 upright piano in gloss black. She is equipped with a full Renner action 😁. She is in good condition with a few small imperfections but still very presentable. She has a light / medium action.
A great choice for an intermediate level piano. The piano is 121cm tall so is the same size as a Yamaha U1 and Kawai K300 models. She might not be quite as good as an equivalent U1 but she is less than half the price of an equivalent age Yamaha U1 piano. There is some minor play in the key bushings from use but nothing that isn’t expected on a pre owned piano. Because of the height she has a good bass to match quite a bright treble. Have a listen to the video, she sounds really good.
She has a middle practice pedal for midnight piano practice 😃.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
This piano is in good condition. There are a few blemishes that we have photographed and pointed out. There is a small 20mm area on the top lid where there were a few deep scratches.m that we have touched in. There is a small 10mm touch up on the left leg. There is a small 20mm crack in the polyester coating on top of the right leg bottom. We see this lots on upright pianos and is nothing to worry about. It’s just in the polyster coating. Honestly, please read our reviews for how well we prepare and are over critical of our pianos. We have never had anyone say a piano isnt as described and most people wonder why we mention marks that 99% of people can't even see but that's just how we are. Check the pictures, they do not lie!

Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. If you put a new tyre on a car you wouldn't say the car had been refurbished would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
