Kawai CX-5 compact gloss black upright piano
Lovely Kawai CX-5 piano in gloss black. A good quality Japanese made piano from the well regarded manufacturer. The new Kawai smaller pianos are not made in Japan anymore due to the high cost. In average / good condition but still very presentable. She has a medium action. Similar to a newer Kawai K15 / Yamaha B1 / C110.
As with most of these compact pianos these little Japanese compact pianos are real workhorses and are very reliable and stable. They are a little bit better than some of the entry level new pianos from other manufacturers in the far east. It isn’t that they are 10 times better, it is just that they generally have the edge with sound quality and being able to extrapolate dynamics just that bit easier.
Although she only has two pedals she still has the Celeste / practice rail. On these models it is hand operated rather than pedal operated so you just lift the lid and pop it down.
Normally we would sell a piano like this for £1995 but because of the small blemishes around the piano we have priced at a bargain £1495. Especially for a gloss black Japanese made Kawai. Have a listen to the video, she still sounds really good.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
This piano is in average / good condition. There is a small 1mm chip on the G5 key. There are a few small blemishes on the end cheeks of the piano that we have carried out smart repairs. These are just from the piano being in a busy household and getting marked when walking past, nothing drastic. Around the piano there are various little marks and nicks and there are a couple of faint scratches on various panels. We have still spent over 20 hours buffing the piano and she looks fantastic and nearly as new from 2 feet away. Honestly, please read our reviews for how well we prepare and are over critical of our pianos. We have never had anyone say a piano isnt as described and most people wonder why we mention marks that 99% of people can't even see but that's just how we are. Check the pictures, they do not lie!

And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. If you put a new tyre on a car you wouldn't say the car had been refurbished would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
