Kemble K121T upright piano in Gloss mahogany. Commonly known as The English U1. This was built after Yamaha purchased Kemble and is just as good as any Yamaha U1 with a slightly more mellow tone.
If you are looking for a professional level piano that can take you all the way to concert pianist standard but are on a budget and willing to compromise on the casework you really can’t go better than this Kemble.
We purchased this for a custom case project but we have been so busy we don’t seem to find the time. We have decided to list it at a bargain price to make some space so grab what is the cheapest Kemble K121T currently for sale in the country.
She plays amazing and the mechanicals and keys are in full working order with very little wear but the case has a few blemishes and has suffered from sun fading which is really common with mahogany coloured pianos when placed in direct sunlight hence why she is priced at £1500 less than normal. In our opinion she plays just as good as a Yamaha U1 and utilises the fabulous Langer 100 action. She also sounds fantastic and the bass is very powerful and clear and the mid treble has a slightly less bright sound than the equivalent Yamaha. She has a medium action and has been tuned to concert pitch
She has a middle practice pedal for some midnight practice.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
As we noted earlier the casework has suffered from some sun fading, with the majority on the left side and then blending through left to right. There are a various blemishes around and we have pointed out the worst in the photo gallery but overall we feel she is quite presentable and depending on where you place her in the room can look fantastic. We have priced her extremely competitively so please don’t expect the piano to look in as new condition. We are overly critical of our pianos so you can rest assured she will be as described. How many other sellers would do that?

Too many times have we turned up to view a 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. If you put a new tyre on a car you would describe the car as refurbished would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
