Schumann 122 upright piano - gloss black with chrome

***** we are just finishing preparing this piano and she will be ready on 29/03/26 *****

Beautiful Schumann 122 upright piano in gloss black. Around 10 years old and in good condition. She benefits from chrome hardware and detailing around the piano case to give a more contemporary look. With these newer pianos the casework is just that little bit nicer than older pianos with slightly rounded corners and little design touches. She also has an inbuilt soft close lid.

The keys and action feel very as new and inside the cabinet is immaculate. She does benefit from underfelted hammers and German made Rosalu strings. She has a middle practice pedal if you fancy some midnight practice without annoying the neighbours!

We would be happy to recommend this piano to anyone from beginner to advanced. We can happily play grade 8 classical pieces on the piano without issues. A great alternative to a Yamaha U1 at half the price for this age of piano. Most U1 pianos you see between £3500 - £4500 are from the 1970’s.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.

This Schumann piano is a great looking piano and in good condition. We have spent over 20 hours buffing the casework to ensure a glass like finish. There are a couple of blemishes to point out. There are a couple of 2mm marks on the top of the key lid (photographed) but these cannot be seen when the lid is up. There is a small smart repair on the top edge of the left foot and a small push mark on the front of the key slip. All photographed and hardly noticeable. Because of these tiny blemishes we are selling this piano at £2650 rather than our usual £2995. We pride ourselves on honesty and openness and our accurate descriptions

  • WHY BUY FROM ROWLANDSON PIANOS

Here at Rowlandson pianos we pride ourselves on supplying good quality modern pianos and want the customer to be truly satisfied.  In an ever changing world we have adapted by making more information on the pianos accessible online, so you can see lots of photos and a video of the piano being played.  We actively seek to give an unbiased description of each piano we have for sale including any negative points.  Too many times have we turned up to view a 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old".  We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is.  If we say it has some marks around, it does.  And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.

One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos.  Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted.  If you put a new tyre on a car you would describe the car as refurbished would you?  Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.

  • RETURN & REFUND POLICY

If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left.  Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.

  • DELIVERY INFO

Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ.  We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges.  We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves.  Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
