Steinbach GP148 baby grand piano in gloss black. One of the smallest baby grand pianos available.
A great little entry level baby grand piano available at a trade price. We are selling some of our stock pianos at massively reduced prices due to relocation.
We can normally spend up to 60 hours polishing and cleaning and setting up pianos ready for sale but with us moving to new premises we need to reduce some of our stock pianos. This was one of our pianos that we had purchased for stock but haven’t yet got around to fully preparing her for sale so we thought we would offer you a chance to buy at a huge discount ‘as is’
‘As is’ doesn’t mean we haven’t done anything 😊. She has been fully tuned and checked over and is in decent enough mechanical condition. We haven’t however started the full cleaning, polishing and set up process which can take over a week. We have given her a quick clean so you can see the general condition but she isn’t as ‘clean and showroom’ ready as our shop pianos. There are some marks and scratches around the piano and fine scratches over the lid.
Please be realistic in your expectations of the piano which is for sale for £2250 and would normally be for sale for £3995! She still looks absolutely gorgeous and probably what most people would expect of a pre owned piano but we spend so much time and effort normally preparing our pianos we are comparing to this.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
The main area to point out is the front right end cheek has some chips on the edge. We would normally carry out a polyester repair on this area but we would prefer to offer her at a more affordable price at the moment. There is some cracking in the polyester on the music stand sides (photographed). The bottom 10 notes bass strings would benefit from replacement as they sound ‘tubby’. This cost would be around £250 but you can leave this type of thing for years. It doesn’t affect the playability, just the sound of the bottom octave. Listen to the demonstration and you can hear she still sounds great. Some wear on the key bushings as to be expected but nothing too much and just look 👀………. A gloss black baby grand piano for just over £2000 !!!!!!!

Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may well be 'part' refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. You wouldn't put a new tyre on a car and then sell the car as 'refurbished' would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
