Yamaha U1 / MX100 Disklavier - self playing piano in Gloss white

Yamaha MX100 / U1 Disklavier

Here is a rare white Yamaha MX100 disklavier.  She has had some use through her life and shows the signs of this on her casework and action.  She would benefit from replacement hammers and dampers sometime in the future but for now she is here listed at a bargain price and can be enjoyed straight away just as she is.

****Trade sale**** - We can normally spend up to 60 hours polishing, cleaning and setting up pianos ready for sale but with us moving to new premises we need to reduce some of our stock pianos.  This was one of our pianos that we had purchased for stock but haven’t yet got around to fully preparing her for sale so we thought we would offer you a chance to buy at a huge discount ‘as is’

‘As is’ doesn’t mean we haven’t done anything 😊.  She has been fully tuned and checked over and is in good mechanical condition but could benefit from some fine tuning.  We haven’t however started the full cleaning and polishing process which can take over a week.  We have given her a quick clean so you can see the condition but she isn’t as ‘clean and showroom’ ready as our shop pianos.

The MX100 is a Yamaha U1 but with Yamaha’s excellent disklavier system fitted.  Even better than that this particular piano has been upgraded and the old floppy disk drive has been replaced with a USB storage drive which is a huge improvement.  She has also had a Bluetooth upgrade and therefore you can use the modern streaming apps such as Pianostream which has a huge library of songs to play.

She plays well and has the typical touch of a Yamaha U series piano with plenty of control and feel.  She has had replacement cords and tapes in the recent past.  Most people would be happy with her as she is but we prefer to be open and honest.  A replacement set of hammers and dampers would be a good upgrade.  We can do this work if needed but at an extra cost of £1500 it really isn’t worth it in our opinion and she would be best enjoyed as she is.  We would normally sell an upgraded Disklavier like this at £4500 so an absolute bargain.  The cheapest disklavier piano for sale in the country and with all the right upgrades.  What’s not to like ❤️

The casework shows plenty of marks around her.  She once resided in a cool cafe bar where she was used as a feature and has the knocks of having this life.  At least she has lived 😀.  She has easy roll casters fitted.  We can fit brass castors for an extra £100 if you would prefer.  Please don’t expect a mint piano.  She isn’t.  From 6 feet away she looks great but upon getting closer the touch ups and chips are apparent.  We have photographed these marks for you to see.

The description probably makes her sound really bad but she is listed at nearly half the price of a normal disklavier and you need to be realistic with your expectations.  This doesn’t detract from the fact that this is a genuine Yamaha U1 which She  looks impressive and sounds good too.  Always a great talking point.

Width - 151cm

Depth - 62cm

Serial number - TBC

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.

This U1 / MX100 is in average condition. Unfortunately the casework does have lots of marks of use around but from 6 feet away she is still an impressive looking piano and would normally retail with is at £4500 so a saving of £2000 !!!!!!! Because there are quite a few marks around the piano we have taken plenty of photos to give you a good idea of how she looks.

Although the Disklavier function all works as it should we are unfortunately unable to offer any warrenty on the electronics within the piano. This is purely down to the age of the electronics and parts. When we deliver the piano we will of course ensure it is in perfect working order before we leave. The piano is priced as we would a normal U1 of this age and in this condition so the Disklavier system is an added bonus. We think it's the cheapest MX100 for sale at a piano shop The piano can be played just like a normal acoustic piano
